Lana Del Rey

Let's talk about Lana Del Rey.

Everyone hates her. Why?

My best friend, Tommy, introduced me to Lana while in his car on the way to his house, late January. He asked me if I've heard of her, while seeking through songs on a burnt CD. On came the viral hit "Video Games".

Instantly I remembered re-blogging a cover of this song by Silver Swans on my tumblr, not knowing its originator.  After hearing it in its original glory, I became obsessed.

He showed me her SNL performance and I thought "what's the big deal?"

People were furious by her fame and "shitty" performance. I thought it was beautiful and captivating. Lizzy Grant is clearly insecure and Lana Del Rey isn't.

I can relate. I take beautiful photos of myself, but I wouldn't be caught dead like that in my everyday life. Hence, Nikki G.

So what if Lizzy isn't Lana. Lana Del Rey is Lizzy Grant's art. This persona is her show and she created every part of it.

People hate her because her dad is rich, her lips are fake, she changed her name, this and that. Yada, yada.
None of those things have anything to do with her music.

The new thing is to hate her. It's like a new trend that just won't die out.

People are pissed because her art is getting noticed, who's to say she doesn't deserve it? Just because she comes from money doesn't mean her art is of any less value or any less deserving of respect than a person who comes from poverty.
I come from poverty and I am still struggling but I respect Lizzy Grant and her work and I fucking love it.

end rant.

Mona.

Mona Adams. Drawing inspired by Mona Lisa & Morticia Adams. More Morticia than Mona.
Moritcia Adams is an icon to me. I aspire to be her.

Saria & Dylan

Saria & Dylan are two characters from a script I am writing about two serial killers in love. It's a musical. This is what they would look like when they put on their disguises. Saria dons a white Bettie Page style wig and Beetlejuice themed leotard with fishnets and (not shown) thigh high buckled black spiked boots. Dylan wears his hair greaser style with white face paint, a batman belt buckle, and a matching striped jacket as well as a Jack Skellington styled tie and cat eye women sunglasses. Ahhh young love and impeccable fashion equals a team meant for murder.

Lana Del Rey

I love Lana Del Rey. I love this picture.

An outfit

I bought this super cute beetlejuice like skirt recently and I am in love with it. Tim Burton is my soul mate, he just doesn't know it yet.

I love wearing red lipstick. I've been wearing it since high school, (sounds so far but that was in 09) and I still love it. Part of me is a vixen from every decade....That's a lie. I cannot pull off being a vixen, or anything remotely close to sexy.
